How to do Hadouken Photography?

If you've been following us on Instagram you will know that lately we've been into Hadouken photography. What is Hadouken Photography? Hadouken is the latest craze in Japan. It involves pictures of people throwing lighting balls at each other. Just imagine street fighter but in real life. No photoshop required. Below are a few videos to save us from explaining.

From Digital Rev this is a good "How to" video.

If you are getting bored from photographing normal stuff Harouken is a fun way of spicing things up. Get together with a group of friends and just have some fun.

Our tips on creating a great Harouken photos?

  • Think about the backdrop. It's not just the "Kung fu move" but the setting.
  • Think Physics. That is, jump in the direction you think you would fall if you were really kicked.
  • Remember your facial expression. Look like you are ening hurt or exerting energy.
  • Be creative in your actions.
  • Use fast shutter speed. In our photos we used 1/800 or 1/1000.

Here's a few for inspiration. Comment below and share what you have done.
